California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) has been our go-to lunch spot for comfort food since we were in college. Even after moving to the San Gabriel area after college, we continue to frequent CPK whenever we get a chance to visit the Westfield Santa Anita mall. The most exciting part about this CPK is not only the new contemporary design, but also their “Next Chapter” menu that features fresh, seasonal ingredients, inventive main plates, hand-crafted cocktails and customizable “Lunch Duos.” Here are some of my favorites from the revamped menu:
How can we not start off our post with the Sunny Side Up Bacon + Potato Pizza? This delectable pizza is made with shaved fingerling potatoes, Nueske’s applewood smoked bacon, caramelized leeks, parmesan, mozzarella, fresh black cracked pepper, and of course, topped with two sunny-side up eggs! It not only tastes exceptional, but is also super Instagram-friendly!
Another highlight menu item is the Hearth-Roasted Halibut. Wild-caught halibut roasted on a cedar plank, with grilled asparagus, butternut squash farro and baby kale! You should order this if you prefer something light, but would rather not get a salad.
We are meat lovers and are always craving for a juicy steak! The 12 oz. U.S.D.A. Choice rib-eye steak, fire grilled with house-made Pinot Noir and sea salt, and topped with creamy bleu cheese butter, is absolutely amazing. It’s served with roasted fingerling potatoes and lemon-garlic arugula salad.
