Hi Jocelyn & Justine, what makes you happy? Why?
Able to eat a lot of great food! Since creating @hangrydiary 5 years ago, Justine and I (Jocelyn) have had the opportunity to feature numerous restaurants we love and share great food with others. Through our journey, we have met many like-minded and talented people in the F&B industry with the same passion for food! Every time we explore a new dish or restaurant we are happy that we get to surprise our palates and share new trends with others. We hope those who have been with us on our food journey feel the same kind of happiness along the way!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
@HangryDiary are the sister-sister pairing of Justine and I (Jocelyn). Our passion for exploring new restaurants inspired us to become food bloggers after graduating from USC and UCLA, respectively. We were raised in Hong Kong but moved to Los Angeles to study. You can often find us eating at the hottest restaurants in town (hopefully we get to dine out again very soon!) and taking an obscene amount of time to shoot that perfect angle.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Favorite restaurants in Los Angeles (some of them are closed but this is our best list!) 10:00 AM Breakfast – Republique (Unbeatable French Toast) , Alice’s Kitchen (Hong Kong Styled Breakfast) 12:00 NOON – Hayato (Bento Box), Mexicalitaco (Tacos) , Sea Harbor (Dim Sum) , Beverly Soon Tofu (Tofu Soup – Closed), Auburn (New American – Closed) , Howlin’ Ray’s (Fried Chicken) 3:00 PM – Go Cakes (Innovative Cakes for an afternoon tea) , Afternoon Tea at Langham Hungtinton Pasadena 8:00 PM – Bistro Na’s (Imperial Chinese Cuisine), Sushi I-Naba ( Somni – Once-in-a-lifetime-fine-dining experience (Closed) , Angler (Refined Seafood Restaurant) , Quarter’s (Korean Barbecue), Angelini Osteria (Italian Restaurant), Melisse Restaurant (New American), N/aka (Kaiseki Dining experience) , Providence (American Seafood Restaurant)
